Chevrolet Bolt 2027: Why Is It So Great?
The electric-vehicle segment has grown tremendously in diversity over the past few years, but if there’s one name that remains a true benchmark in the category, it’s the Chevrolet Bolt. The American automaker’s compact EV is returning to the market for the 2027 model year with notable improvements.
Before getting into the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt, let’s look back at the model’s history to understand just how important it has become for the brand today. The Chevrolet Bolt arrived on the market in 2017, succeeding the Volt and establishing itself as the first serious next-generation electric vehicle. Chevrolet later introduced the Bolt EV and the Bolt EUV, both of which achieved significant success. That’s why the brand decided to bring the experience back with the 2027 Bolt.
Impressive on All Fronts
The Chevrolet Bolt is making a spectacular comeback with styling that’s both dynamic and elegant. It features a bold color palette with shades like Atomic Yellow, Habanero Orange, and Marina Blue Metallic.
The cabin is superb, featuring an 11-inch digital instrument display and an 11.3-inch multimedia screen running Google’s intuitive and user-friendly interface. Ergonomics have been carefully considered, and the overall design is beautifully executed. The designers even added unique seat-finishing patterns—proof of how much attention to detail went into this model. In short, the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt is a worthy continuation of its lineage.
The Bolt’s proportions allow it to offer a more spacious and accommodating interior than most of its rivals, something I personally appreciate about the model.
An Efficient Powertrain
The 2027 Bolt’s powertrain is very similar to the one found in the Equinox. It delivers 210 horsepower and 169 pound-feet of torque, more than enough for a vehicle of this size. It’s powered by a 65-kWh battery pack that stores enough energy to provide an average range of 410 kilometers. Interestingly, the Bolt can charge from 10 to 80% in just 26 minutes.
An Attractive Price
As always, the Chevrolet Bolt remains very competitively priced, especially considering everything it offers. The LT version starts at $43,470 including destination charges. The RS version comes in at $46,025, which is still very reasonable.
While some automakers haven’t even unveiled their full 2026 lineups yet, the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt will arrive very early at dealerships. The first units are expected to hit the market as soon as spring 2026—something we’re eagerly looking forward to.
