2022 Buick Enclave: a host of interesting changes

The year 2022 is not the year of the great transformation of the Buick Enclave, which was presented to us in 2019 in its present form. However, after a few years on the market, there's nothing like a little upgrade to improve a product that's been going strong since its debut 15 years ago.

Let's take a look at how Buick has improved its Enclave for 2022.

Styling changes

We're not talking about a redesign of the Enclave, which would have meant major styling changes, but still, the changes are significant and will make it easy to distinguish a 2023 model. The front grille has been redesigned, as has the hood. The wheel design is new, as are the signature headlights and LED lights.

Quite frankly, it's hard to fault Buick in this regard; the model offers spectacular lines.

More safety

Safety is a priority at Buick. Unsurprisingly, each version will benefit from new features in this upgrade. Every Enclave will get automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring and automatic low beams.

And while it's not a safety feature per se, it's worth noting that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps now integrate wirelessly with the multimedia system, simplifying operations for the driver.

The Future

Speaking of Avenir, we're not referring to what's coming, but to the Avenir variant that's offered within the lineup. The latter offers the ultimate in performance, and in 2022, this will be more true than ever. The model benefits from improvements that raise the bar.

Basically, new wood trim is invited on board, the leather seats adopt a quilted pattern, the massage function is improved, and the materials are even richer. Best of all, the model is uniquely styled on the outside, so that this on-board richness is also visible and identifiable from the outside.

And note that all 2022 Buick Enclaves inherit a new shifter. Basically, the lever found in the 2021 models has been removed and replaced with a row of buttons and controls on the console. This adds to the sleekness of the presentation, while adding to the richness of the vehicle.
