2022 GMC Sierra Pro and 2022 Chevrolet Silverado WT work trucks overview
June 03 2022,
The truck segment in Canada has expanded considerably in recent years. We now have trucks like the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate that are more luxurious than many European luxury cars and yet there are still many consumers who are planning to use their truck mostly and specifically for work. General Motors hasn't forgotten about those consumers and offers a lineup of 2022 GMC Sierra Pro and 2022 Chevrolet Silverado WT trucks which are designed to get the job done first and foremost.
And yet despite being designed with practicality, capability, and performance in mind, Sierra Pro models and Chevrolet Work Truck models are surprisingly well-equipped. Let's take a look at the lineup of 2022 GMC Sierra Pro and 2022 Chevrolet Silverado WT models.
2022 GMC Sierra Pro
The 2022 GMC Sierra Pro is the latest generation of the GMC Sierra entry-level model. It is offered at a starting price of $40,793 and is available in three distinct body styles with three different bed lengths. You can get the regular cab, the double cab, or the crew cab and you can pair these with a standard bed, a short bed, or a long bed.
You also have the option of choosing between 4x2 and 4x4 models, and you have a choice of either a 2.7-litre turbocharged engine with 310 hp and 430 pound-feet of torque, or an available 5.3-litre V8 engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The 2022 GMC Sierra Pro can tow up to 9,400 pounds with the turbo engine and 9,800 pounds with the 5.3-litre V8.
Despite being an entry-level model, there are still significant features inside the Pro model that we know you will appreciate. You can get advanced safety features and driver assistance technologies such as adaptive cruise control and forward collision alert, and you can get features that will help you when towing such as the hitch guidance system.
The 2022 GMC Sierra Limited Pro is very similar in the features and performance that it offers. However, you might get a little bit less power because GMC significantly improved its powertrain lineup for 2022. That said, you may still get exactly what you need so it is worth comparing the two when possible.
2022 Chevrolet Silverado WT
The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado WT is offered with very similar specs and features. It is slightly more affordable, however, but it's towing capability is slightly less. You get a max towing capability capacity of 9,300 pounds in the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado WT. Still, you get the same options in terms of body configuration and bed length, and the same powertrain options as well. You can also choose between a 2.7 L turbocharged four-cylinder engine or the 5.3-litre V8. On the other hand, features such as adaptive cruise control aren't available on the Silverado WT but you can get other advanced safety technology such as Lane departure warning, for example.
We should also note that the 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 HD and Silverado 2500 HD also offer Pro and WT models respectively. We will cover those in a soon-to-be published article. Give us a call today to learn more.
