2023 Chevrolet Colorado: a must-have is born
August 17 2022,
A model is sometimes called a "must-have" in its category. It's usually said of a product that is so complete that it's sure to meet everyone's needs.
Well, for 2023, as the new generation of the Chevrolet Colorado comes to us, we can take that statement back. Really, the proposed product is so complete that we are in front of a future classic. An essential model has just been born.
Here's what makes it possible.
The differences
What every buyer appreciates when shopping for a model is having a nice variety to choose from. With the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado, they'll be salivating at the offer, because the company is really offering a model for everyone.
For example, there's a version for work, the WT. With its more minimalist equipment, it is designed for work above all else; an economical solution for entrepreneurs. Its equipment can be enhanced with the LT livery, which is more furnished. In both cases, these models will benefit from the brand's 2.7-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, this time tuned for 237 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, this engine will allow towing of 3500 pounds.
Want more? No problem, a 310 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque version is available with these two versions, this time allowing towing of 7700 pounds.
The Adventure
If you want a model for leisure and off-road adventures, Chevrolet has some great solutions for you.
First, the Z71 and Trail Boss models, each with their own distinct style. These suggestions benefit from the most powerful version of the 4-cylinder engine, but also from a two-inch suspension upgrade.
Then, for extreme experiences, the ZR2 version will be back, even if a crazier livery will be included, the Desert Boss. In the case of the ZR2 model, a three-inch raised suspension, Multimatic shocks, skid plates and lockable differentials will of course return. And with a 38.3-inch rake, no trail will scare it.
Under the hood, the most powerful version of the 2.7-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine will be available, with 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. The towing capacity of this livery is 6,000 pounds, which is worth mentioning.
Finally, as for the equipment level of each version, we'll get back to that pre-owned, but it's worth noting that each model will be served with an 11.3-inch screen for the multimedia system, as well as an 8.0-inch unit on the instrument cluster.
Really, nothing has been left to chance.
Production of the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is set to begin early next year. The model will show up in dealerships this spring.
