A look at the redesigned 2024 Buick Encore GX
March 26 2023,
The 2024 Buick Encore GX was redesigned a few weeks ago, bringing a refreshed design, new features, even more impressive value, and a brand-new top-of-the-line Avenir trim to the family. The 2024 Buick Encore GX is even more impressive than the current model, although it will continue to offer the surprising luxury that allows Buick’s entry-level SUV to stand out in its segment. Let’s take a look at what’s new on the Encore GX.
All About Style
You don’t have to spend too much time looking at the 2024 Encore GX to see that it’s made a big stylistic jump. The headlights on any of the three trims on offer – Preferred, ST and Avenir -- are now a dual-tier affair with the DRLs sitting above the grille, and the actual headlights sitting below that, in line with the grille’s topmost edge. That not only looks sleeker, but also makes for a more aerodynamic shape. The grille itself has also been redesigned, as have the front and rear bumpers. And let’s not forget about the addition of the latest take on the famous Tri-Shield logo to the Encore’s sleeker snout.
Other additions include black aluminum wheels and grille on the Sport Touring model, and specialized 19” wheels and chrome body accents on the Avenir model.
Dashing Dashboard
Inside, we see the major addition of a curved 19” digital dashboard made up of an 11” infotainment touchscreen and an 8” digital gauge display. Also added are wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, two important features that buyers in this segment have come to expect. Less expected are sporty additions such as a flat-bottom steering wheel and the addition of an Avenir model. Avenir is the top trim you can get at Buick, but has not been available on the Encore until now. It provides a 10-way driver’s seat, genuine leather upholstery and even a cabin air ionizer.
Little Engines, Big Punch
No matter which Encore GX you choose, you will be getting turbocharged power as there are two turbo’d three-cylinder units on offer: a 1.2 litre good for 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque and a 1.3L unit good for 155 hp and 174 lb-ft. Power is then sent to either the front wheels or all four via either a continuously variable automatic (FWD only) and a nine-speed automatic for AWD models.
