Everything You Need to Know About the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox enters the SUV market with a fresh design, advanced technology, and enhanced capabilities. As Chevrolet’s most popular SUV in Canada, the Equinox's latest iteration is a testament to its 20-year legacy, featuring innovative changes that make it a formidable competitor in its segment.

Revolutionized Design and Styling

The 2025 Equinox showcases a complete redesign, inspired by the robust proportions of Chevrolet's truck lineup and the new Traverse. This SUV stands 2.3 inches wider than its predecessor, offering a more planted and confident stance. The design incorporates three distinct front fascia treatments for the LT, ACTIV, and RS trims, providing a range of styles to suit different tastes. The RS model, in particular, brings a dynamic edge with its wide grille opening and high gloss finish. All models feature all-LED lighting and a range of aluminum wheel choices, including 20-inch wheels on the RS for the first time.

ACTIV: Off-Road Inspired Trim

The ACTIV trim is a new addition, designed for enthusiasts who seek adventure beyond the pavement. This trim includes a rugged front fascia with vertical grille inserts, blacked-out badging, and 17-inch machined-faced aluminum wheels. The interior theme combines Maple Sugar and Black with premium Evotex™ and sueded microfiber seating surfaces, making it both stylish and functional for off-road pursuits.

Interior: Modern and Tech-Focused

Inside, the Equinox offers a contemporary, spacious feel, with a strong focus on technology. The driver is greeted with an 11-inch-diagonal configurable driver information centre and an 11.3-inch-diagonal infotainment screen. This setup, enhanced by OnStar connected services and Google built-in compatibility, makes the infotainment system a central hub for entertainment and navigation. The new electronic transmission range selector frees up space in the cabin, while the use of engaging tactile materials throughout enhances the overall experience.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Chevrolet has significantly upgraded the Equinox's safety features, starting with the standard Chevrolet Safety Assist suite. This includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and IntelliBeam®, among other features. Additionally, the SUV is equipped with Side Bicyclist Alert, Rear Vision Camera, and Adaptive Cruise Control, ensuring comprehensive safety for both driver and passengers.

Power and Performance

Under the hood, the Equinox is powered by a 1.5L Turbo engine delivering 175 horsepower, coupled with a continuously variable transmission for FWD configurations or an eight-speed automatic transmission for AWD. New to the Equinox are driver-selectable modes, including Normal, Snow, and Off-Road (for AWD models), enhancing the SUV's adaptability to various driving conditions.

Trailering and Versatility

Trailering is now a part of the Equinox's repertoire, with a capacity of up to 1,500 pounds when equipped with AWD. This feature, combined with the SUV's versatile drive modes, positions the Equinox as a capable vehicle for both urban commutes and adventurous getaways.

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox is set for ordering in mid-2024, with additional details on pricing and specifications to be released closer to the production date. This upcoming launch is highly anticipated, as the Equinox aims to redefine expectations in the SUV market.

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox stands as a significant evolution of Chevrolet’s SUV lineup. With its striking design, innovative features, enhanced safety, and improved performance capabilities, it's poised to offer a comprehensive and versatile driving experience. The Equinox continues to build on its legacy, ready to meet the diverse needs of today’s SUV enthusiasts.
