After seven decades and eight generations, Corvette has seen a seemingly endless array of advancements. Now, it's been electrified for the first time with an e-AWD system that works in tandem with its LT2 V8 engine to provide the quickest 0 to 60 time ever made by this iconic model. But this new Corvette isn't just built for performance - with standard Magnetic Selective Ride Control, it's made for all-season touring as well.
655 total horsepower with AWD!
Crafted for peak performance all year round, the E-Ray can handle any challenge Mother Nature throws its way. But this supercar isn't just designed to tackle the forces of nature — it was built to face off with even the toughest of competition. With technology taken straight from C8.R race car and Le Mans prototypes, it boasts superior power, while carbon ceramic brakes are standard to make sure it stops as quickly as it goes. And with electrified AWD capability for added control and stability, you'll have a car that can take on anything!
At the core of the E-Ray lies an astounding 6.2-liter pushrod V-8 engine, producing up to 495 hp on its own, and paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission for maximum power delivery. That said, the highlight here is the addition of a front-mounted electric motor adding 160 horsepower and 125 lb.-ft. torque, and a specialized oil cooler mounted behind the driver's side front bumper. The forward-mounted electric motor pushes total output to 655 horsepower while also powering the front-wheels while the V8 powers the rear wheels.
60 mph in 2.5 seconds
This setup makes the new Corvette E-Ray the quickest Corvette ever which is certainly saying something. According to Chevrolet the new E-Ray reaches 60 mph in 2.5 seconds — just a tenth of a second behind the Z06 targa-topped model — and completes a quarter mile in 10.5 seconds. The E-Ray tops at 180 mph (289 km/h) and can drive on electric power alone at up to 72 km/h.
The electric motor is powered by a 1.1-kWh lithium-ion battery, supplying power to its permanent-magnet synchronous AC motor and is used to support the V8's stop-start feature along with other accessories. This is all tucked inside a center tunnel between both passengers, weighing approximately 100 lbs and made up of 80 pouches supplied by LG and assembled by GM.
You'll find six drive modes that can be configured according to your preference, while Charge+ — an exclusive hybrid-only perk — ensures that your battery remains at optimal capacity for longer drives on roads or tracks.
The E-Ray is outfitted with several unique features, as well as the same components found on the hardcore Z06. Not only does this hybrid boast three and a half inches of extra width compared to its Stingray counterpart, but it also comes complete with carbon-ceramic brakes for extra stopping power, and Michelin Pilot Sport tires to ensure optimal grip around corners.
The new 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray will arrive on the market later this year. Give us a call to learn more!
