Of the two, the Blazer is the only one that offers both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive as well as a four-cylinder turbo engine that makes 228 hp and 259 lb-ft. It gets the same nine-speed auto both the V6 Blazer and the Traverse do.

Comfort and Convenience 

Both the 2023 Chevrolet Blazer and the Traverse come similarly priced and offer a generous array of standard features. Heated front and rear seats (second row in the Traverse), cooled front seats, heated steering wheel and multi-zone air conditioning all come as standard. All the most important driver aids such as cross-traffic alert, blind-spot alert and lane keep assist as well as adaptive cruise control are also on-hand, with the Traverse just pipping the Blazer in terms of on-board features by adding steering wheel-mounted audio controls, folding wing mirrors and passenger-adjustable lumbar. The Traverse can seat up to eight people, while the Blazer tops out at five. 

Divergent Styling

Unlike the interior accoutrements, you will find quite a difference between these two in terms of styling. The Blazer may be the more youthful vehicle with its hourglass-shaped grille, ultra-narrow headlights and two-tone wheels, but the Traverse is no slouch in this department. It swaps the Blazer’s more rambunctious digs for something slightly more handsome and civilized, anchored by muscular fenders, elongated wheelbase and optional dark wheel choice.
