After a styling refresh for the 2022 model year, the Chevrolet Traverse returns for 2023 with a few more updates to add just a little more flair to the popular mid-size crossover.

Chief among these additions are two new colours: Sterling Grey Metallic and Radiant Red Tintcoat, two colours that are sure to make the Traverse stand out that much more in crowded mall parking lots. Inside, we also find a new leather-wrapped steering wheel on higher trims.

Speaking of trims, there are six available: LS, LT, RS, True North, Premier and High Country.

For 2023, we see the return of a standard naturally-aspirated V6 engine good for 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, sent to all four wheels – there is no two-wheel drive option -- via a nine-speed automatic. All models, meanwhile, come with three-row seating for up to eight passengers and standard heated seats for the driver and front-seat passenger, as well as standard active noise cancellation for a quiet ride. All Traverse models also get up to 2,781 L of storage pace, with 651 L behind the third row.

Infotainment-wise, we find standard Sirius XM satellite radio compatibility, Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, either a 7- or 8-inch infotainment display plus optional 10-speaker Bose premium audio and USB ports in all three rows.

Other options include second-row captain’s chairs, HD surround vision parking camera, heated steering wheel, heated 2nd-row outboards seats and ventilated front seats.

On the road, Traverse drivers and occupants are well cared for thanks to standard lane keep assist, OnStar connected services, tri-zone automatic climate control, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking plus optional rear cross-traffic alert and rear park assist.

There’s all of this and much more to like from the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse, so it must be considered if it’s time to either step in to a three-row SUV for the first time, or to upgrade from your current model.
