The powertrain of a new Chevrolet, GMC, or Buick vehicle is covered for five years or 100,000 kilometers, while most other components are covered for three years or 60,000 kilometers. For example, if you buy a two-year-old vehicle with 40,000 km, you have one year or 20,000 km left on the new vehicle, and three years or 60,000 km on the powertrain. A four-year-old vehicle with 95,000 km has only 5,000 km of powertrain warranty remaining and is no longer covered by the new vehicle warranty.

When shopping for a used vehicle, try to find the one with the longest original warranty balance.

Certified Pre-Owned Warranty

An extended warranty is one of the many benefits of a certified pre-owned vehicle. Buying a certified pre-owned vehicle is a great option when you can't find a used vehicle with the original warranty.
